My career as an author was born out of many happy years in the EFL classroom. I've taught general English to teenagers and adults, academic English and study skills, and exam preparation for IELTS and Cambridge qualifications, across a wide range of ages, levels, and contexts in Thailand, Australia, the UK, and Poland.
I also have hands-on experience integrating AI into materials design, developing bespoke resources for private students that adapt quickly to individual needs and levels. I see AI as a genuine accelerant for skilled writers — not a replacement for pedagogical judgement, editorial rigour, or an understanding of how learners actually engage with a text. That distinction, I believe, is exactly what will matter most as the profession changes.
